British Deer Society 2008 2nd Open International
Photographic Competition

Deer

The British Deer Society is a registered charity, founded in 1963, concerned with the wellbeing of the six species of wild deer in the UK.  It has over 6,000 members and supporters with wide and varied interests, united in a common interest of the deer.

The British Deer Society invites non members interested in natural history and deer photography to enter this exciting and challenging competition.  There will be several subject categories and a special, fantastic section sponsored by Bushwear who will give a £10 credit to entrants of this section,  redeemable against any future purchase from the their catalogue.

Bushwear, Swarovski Optik, Canon & the London Camera Exchange (Salisbury) together with the MacDonald Aviemore Centre, SAS Radisson Hotels, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and the Dynamic Earth Edinburgh have donated prizes to the competition.

The event runs from 31st  March until 30th September 2008 and is open to digital images only either from scanned transparencies and prints or as original digital files.

Entries are expected from photographers from all parts of the world and the judges (Damien Demolder, Editor of Amateur Photographer magazine and Neil McIntyre, Scottish Wildlife and Landscape photographer) will be looking for photographs that are exciting, evocative, interesting, informative and are of excellent quality. A travelling exhibition of winners' images will take place during 2009.
